
- 100% of the National Minimum Wage for 25 hours per week for a total of 6 months
- Associated employer National Insurance contributions
- Employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions
The scheme also includes a £1,500 grant paid to employers to cover set-up and training costs. Each employer is required to offer Kickstart placements training to develop new employability skills to improve their long term careers prospects.
The scheme will prioritize young people aged between 16 and 24 who are on Universal Credit and ready to start a job placement. Employers can also spread the start date of the job placements throughout 2021 with the last placement starting on 31st December 2021; this allows employers to offer work placements in the same or different roles across several cohorts.
To apply, all employers must be:
- Regisitered at Companies House or with the Charities Commission
- Have filed accounts or confirmation statements at Companies House
- Pay employee National Insurance contributions
- Creating a new job placement(s)
