The Kickstart Scheme is a £2 billion fund to create high-quality 6-month work placements for young people.

Funding for the scheme covers the relevant National Minimum Wage for 25 hours a week, plus the associated employer National Insurance contributions and employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions.  The scheme also includes funding for employers to train and develop young people’s new skills to help them move into sustained employment after they have completed their Kickstart funded job placement. Through the scheme, employers will be able to access a large pool of young people with potential, ready for an opportunity. The scheme will prioritize young people aged between 16 and 24 who are ready to start a Job Placement supported by their Jobcentre Plus Work Coach. Employers can spread the start date of the job placements up until the end of December 2021.

Businesses who want to create fewer than 30 placements can do so via White Lantern Film.  Our focus is to support employers trading within the screen, online and marketing sectors or who have job placements within these sectors.  If you are interested in accessing the scheme, please provide us with information on your business and the job placements available by registering your details below.

Job placements are for a minimum of 25 hours per week for a maximum of 6 months.  Employees are paid at least the National Minimum Wage and minimum automatic enrolment contributions are included.

Employers can access Kickstart Scheme funding for new jobs that meet the minimum requirements.  Grants of £1,500 are available per job placement for setup costs and to support the young person develop their employability skills.
